The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli took part in the jubilee event of Center for Law and Economics. At the event, a report on the activities of the first interdisciplinary centre in the field of law and economics, established in partnership with public-private universities, was presented. Also, a presentation was made by the Corporate Law Committee, which comprises of Supreme Court, Appellate and City Court judges and academics.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli addressed the public, congratulated the founders of the Center for Law and Economics on the anniversary and spoke about the importance of such interdisciplinary research for the state.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli: “I would like to congratulate the Center for Law and Economy on its anniversary. The Center carries out highly important interdisciplinary research and is an impeccable example of cooperation between public and private universities. I would also like to emphasize that an important aspect of the center's work revolves around students and their active involvement in the research process.”

Within the framework of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Center for Law and Economics and the Supreme Court of Georgia. The document was signed by Irakli Burduli and Nino Kadagidze.

The Center for Law and Economics is a structural unit jointly established by Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Tbilisi Open University, which aims to stimulate and monitor the current legislative, scientific or practical processes in the field of law and economic policy. For two years, under the auspices of the Center, important events were held on relevant issues in the field of law and economics.

The anniversary of Law and Economics was attended by the rectors of Tbilisi State University and Tbilisi Open University, representatives of the Parliament of Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia and various members of academic circles.
