The sub-programme aims to help ethnic Georgians living in
the Republic of Azerbaijan maintain their Georgian lingua-cultural identity and
links to their historical motherland, and learn Georgian.
Supporting the Georgians living in the Republic of
Azerbaijan is one of the crucial issues for Georgia. There are Georgian
citizens living in the regions of Kakhi, Zakatala and Belakani. It is vitally
important for them to know Georgian because the Georgian schools situated in the
regions of Belakani and Zakatala are bound to get closed down. The problem is
the lack of the Georgian Language and Literature textbooks. Thus, the Ministry
of Education and Sciences of Georgia provides the schools with the Georgian
Language and Literature textbooks and Mathematics textbooks.
