Owing to the decision of the Interagency Coordinating Council, museums and museum-reserves will be opened to the public according to a predetermined schedule; The process will be carried out in accordance with the established rules and regulations.
Levan Kharatishvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia visited the newly opened Tbilisi Ethnographic Museum and the Georgian Art Palace - Museum of Cultural History and got acquainted with the activities presented by the museums. According to Levan Kharatishvili, Georgia is one of the first countries to decide to gradually open museums during the pandemic; At the first stage, about ten museums within the system of the Ministry have been opened and this process will continue based on careful observation. It is important that all museums, have all the conditions for safety and compliance with the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health.
Georgian museums and museum-reserves will receive visitors based on the developed recommendations and safety rules. During the initial stage, only those museums were opened that meet the recommendations developed by the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health of Georgia.
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia and the Ministry of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Affairs, created specific recommendations in cooperation with the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
