The Newly Appointed Minister of Education and Science Dimitri Shashkin Visited Tbilisi Public School №24 under the Scope of the Introductory Meetings in Schools

The Minister Dimitri Shashkin visited public school №24, familiarized with the infrastructure of the school and held a meeting with the teachers and the students. At the meeting, the school students and teachers expressed their positions on the ongoing issues in the education system and the minister informed them about the future plans. The teachers’ problems and the ways of solving these problems have been extensively discussed at the meeting.

“I am interested in getting the first-hand information from the teachers and students on what needs to be done. We focus on the teachers and students. Many things have been accomplished at schools but there are some problems which need to be solved efficiently. With regard to the social aid programs for the teachers, in the coming days, the teachers will be provided with the insurance vouchers and the teachers will have an opportunity to choose from the provider companies. The reforms will be implemented promptly”, announced the Minister at the meeting. 
Under the scope of the President’s National Iakob Gogebashvili Program, the public schools were partially renovated in Didube - Chugureti district.
Within the scope of the “Deer Leap” program, Didube- Chugureti public schools were provided with 865 computers.
There are 84 gold medal holders and 245 silver medal holders in Didube-Chugureti district in 2008-2009.
