On February 5, a press conference of Tbilisi 22^nd Jazz Festival was held at TBC Gallery. The event was led by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Levan Kharatishvili, deputy Mayor of Tbilisi Sophio Khuntsaria, director of Eastern Promotions - Giorgi Kereselidze and TBC Bank Marketing Director Nino Egadze.

Within the scope of the ongoing reform, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia - Mikheil Batiashvili spoke about the involvement of private sector and active cooperation of private companies in the field of vocational education.

On February 4, special trainings were conducted in 5 public schools for the 5th, 10th and 11th graders, comprising of theoretical and practical lessons on the importance of using the internet safely. The trainings also provide an active involvement of students in the process, which greatly facilitates the learning.

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Mikheil Batiashvili made one of the main emphasis on access to vocational education in the regions that will give young people the opportunity to receive and sell their education.

"We need to increase the staff who will be employed and not the ones who will receive the paper diploma," stated Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia today during his interview.

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia Mr. Mikheil Batiashvili together with the deputy minister - Irina Abuladze, and Irina Tserodze, head of Vocational Education Development Department, held a presentation on vocational education within the ongoing education reform.

Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, held a presentation with journalists, other media members, representatives of higher education institutions and the general public with the vision of integration of the higher education system into the EU Platform and discussed the priorities that will be implemented consistently within the reform to achieve the results.

The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia Mikheil Batiashvili in his presentation highlighted the two-year action plan which will be used to integrate Georgia's higher education system with the European platform.

The gift was handed over to the President of the Paralympic Committee Shalva Maisuradze by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Georgia - Mr. Dzi Yench. The event was held at ExpoGeorgia Exhibition Center.

In Surami, National Monument Protection Agency will implement the full-scale rehabilitation of the house museum of the Ukrainian poet and writer Lesia Ukrainka in cooperation with Municipal Development Fund and local self-government.

Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, together with Irina Abuladze, Deputy Minister and Mariam Jash, Chairman of Education, Science and Culture Committee awarded winners of various contests, and were given memorable diplomas and valuable gifts.

The 2019 European Championship will be held in Batumi on April 6-13. Right to European Championship was obtained by the official application submitted in 2017 at the European Federation Congress.

On January 30, an art incubator was opened at the "Tbilisi Creative Center" in Tbilisi History Museum "Karvasla". Mikheil Giorgadze and Levan Kharatishvili, Deputy Ministers of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, British Ambassador to Georgia - Justin McKenzie, Director of Georgian National Museum Davit Lortkipanidze and BTU - Rector of Business and Technology University Andro Rurua all attended the opening ceremony.
