The Ministry of Education and Science organized the second meeting of a focus group of work-based learning.
The 100th anniversary of I.Javaskhishvili Tbilisi State University is among UNESCO events list. The decision was made at the 39th general conference session in Paris with the support of friend countries. Since 1956 UNESCO is actively participating in celebration of historic data in its member countries that gives special meaning to those events.
In connection to Ilia Chavchavadze 180th anniversary, Tbilisi Classic Gymnasium is planning to organize an anniversary week.
The celebratory week will be opened with exhibition “The history connects us with Ilia”, which is related to the two-century of Tbilisi Classic Gymnasium, and exhibits, unique manuscripts and personal belongings of Ilia Chavchavadze (desk, chair) preserved in the school museum will presented.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamaz Marsagishvili together with the President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid and representatives of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons visited Tserovani IDP settlement. Kersti Kalyulaid viewed the classrooms equipped with modern technologies at Tserovani Public School, met with pupils and handed the books Estonian fairy tales to pupils of first grade.
Within the framework of visit to Georgia, President of the Republic of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid visited # 150 Tbilisi Public School, where she personally got acquainted with the course and results of educational program that are implemented on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Government of Georgia and the Government of Estonia. The goal of cooperation is to share experience and practice in the field of general education, introduce the innovations and challenges that take place in the sphere of education.
Within second annual International Conference of vocational education “Professions for Future” public exhibition of 45 new vocational education programs was held, where ten vocational institutions introduced to the visitors all the necessary information, which was created within $ 12 million budget project “Vocational education for development of economics” of second MCC compact.
The second annual International Conference on Vocational Education- “Professions for the Future”, within the project of Millennium Challenge Account “Vocational Education for Economic Development” was opened. The main speaker at the International Conference, Jason Gregor, the director of Pearson International Education Company of Business and Development, presented the results of the international research which outlines the required professions and skills of future by 2030. The research was conducted with the Global Fund of Innovation NESTA and Oxford Martini School.
The coordination meeting of donors was organized by the Vocational Education Development Department at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. International organizations, which operate in the vocational education field in Georgia, participated in the meeting. The Representative Office of EU to Georgia (MCA), German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), Unites Nations Development Program (UNDP), Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Local Representative Office of Munich and Upper Bavaria Chamber and World Bank (WB).
For All applicants who wish to get vocational education, today (October 29) examination is being held at all exam centers throughout Georgia, where participation is obligatory, because state funding can only be obtained by a citizen of Georgia and a person with humanitarian refugee status who will pass minimum competence level determined for a vocational test.
The awarding of honorable pupils of Kvemo Kartli was held by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and LEPL “Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency” in Rustavi 21 public school. Mamia Moralishvili, Deputy Director of Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency together with representatives of Kvemo Kartli Educational Resource Centers gave personal computers to 174 honorable pupils of the tenth grade.
For all those who wish to receive vocational education, today (October 28) trial testing is being held at all examination centers throughout Georgia. The trial testing allows applicants to pass it without any assessment and test their own forces which will make the testing process easier for them. Tomorrow, on October 29, the examination will be carried out, and the registered persons shall attend it on time, the applicants shall have the examination card together with ID card. State funding can only be obtained by a citizen of Georgia and by a person with humanitarian refugee status who will pass the minimum competency level for vocational testing.
With the initiative of Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili, the new state program will be launched in order to protect and develop Abkhazian language. The relevant Memorandum was signed on October 27, between the two governmental bodies on the day of Abkhazian language.
