A new academic year started on September 15 in schools of Georgia. Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Education and Science Aleksandre Jejelava congratulated pupils, their parents and teachers from Tbilisi Public School №143. On the same day, the Minister visited Tbilisi Public School №32, private “Green School” and Italian School. Aleksandre Jejelava personally congratulated school representatives with the beginning of the academic year.
Millennium Challenge Account - within the framework of the “Vocational Education for Economic Development” project in Georgia is pleased to announce a national award contest for vocational education for the first time in Georgia. The project is financed by the US Millennium Challenge Corporation, within the framework of $ 140 million compact signed between US Millennium Challenge Corporation and the Government of Georgia.
The success of our pupils continues at the International Olympiads, this time, a team of pupils up to 15 years has returned from Bulgaria, where they won a brilliant victory in the first European Youth Olympiad in informatics.
Within the process of modernization of vocational education, with support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and International Organizations, workshop was held Batumi Public College “New Wave” on the topic “Learning by Dual Work-Based Approach”.
Within the framework of professional development project of teachers and directors of "Millennium Challenge Account-Georgia", School Management and Leadership Conference was held for directors of public schools. The goal of the conference was to share the best practice in direction of school management and professional development.
Another organization - Partnership for Human Rights - will be involved in the process of development of National Curriculum of VII, VIII, IX grades, which will work in the direction of protection of rights of children on Civic Education standard together with experts of the department of National Curriculum.
In connection with the beginning of the new academic year, the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Education and Science, Aleksandre Jejelava, together with the Ambassador of France to Georgia Pascal Menie, visited the French School of Caucasus. The Minister, congratulated the renewal of study process to leadership, teachers and pupils of the school and then got acquainted with the learning environment.
We remind you that the contest is announced in order to select the best applications within the framework of the program - “Development of Labor Skills at Schools”, initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
Within the frameworks of the Georgian-Estonian project, the trainings were held for facilitation of introduction of a new National Curriculum for the staff of 15 pilot schools by the subject experts of the National Curriculum Plans Department and the Estonian experts.
Today a new building of German International School Tbilisi and Kindergarten was opened. The school campus offers the place for 116 pupils of school and 60 children of kindergarten in 2017-2018 academic years.
The fifth jubilee international festival of Batumi classical music is opened with the main purpose to discover the future musicians and to promote their talents.
