Owing to the initiative of K.Kekelidze National Center of Manuscripts, a new exhibition – Medieval Treasures” was opened at Simon Janashia Georgian Museum. The exhibition unveiled pre-Christian and Medieval Georgian art, which reflets the ancient traditions of unity and continuity, which formed the basis of Georgia national identity.

On June 10, Georgian public schools hold the election of the board of trustees – the highest self-administrative body. The Board of Trustees is one of the most important link in the school’s governance, and its members are elective by parents and school teachers.

Batumi opened its 8th environmental conference of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) “Environment for Europe”, in which besides the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, other ministers participated.

The following issues were discussed during the human capital development coordination group meeting, which was held today at the government administration; the issues of pre-school and general education, inclusive education for everyone, higher education and the support for science, labor market analysis, employment policy, the development of vocational education, the integration of the diaspora into the educational matters and the issue of non-formal education.

Meetings with the representatives of public schools continues across Georgia. This time, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science – Ms. Lia Gigauri met with the teachers and principals of Khashuri and Kaspi public schools.

Organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, a business meeting was held regarding the research and innovation program Horizon 2020. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the practical aspects of participating in the program Horizon 2020, with the help of implementing agencies and organizations through the lenses of science, technology and innovation.

San Diego State University (SDSU) opened a two day seminar – STEM academy for the entrants. During the seminar, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia – Mr. Aleksandre Jejelava met with the San Diego State University students, professors and the interested entrants, who desire to continue their studies and the above mentioned university.

The presentation was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science – Ms. Lia Gigauri, the dean of the Technical University – Mr. Archil Frangishvili and the representatives of various schools.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia responds to today s media reports, according to which, several school principals received a letter from one of the resource center, stating they are forbidden to participate in any form of cooperation except for the ruling party.
