By the invitation of Georgian Prime
Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, Director-General of World Intellectual Property
Organization (WIPO) Francis Gurry is in Georgia within his official visit. He
had a meeting today with the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar
Sanikidze. Deputy Minister Giorgi Sharvashidze and Head of National Intellectual
Property Center of Georgia “Sakpatenti”, Nikoloz Gogiladze also attended the
meeting.

center Universe, there was a meeting of a thematic working group on work-based
learning, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and
supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Final round of
interdisciplinary and cooperative project “Red dragon has wrapped the crystal
tower”, which was initiated by the first experimental school, was held in the
Mikheil Javakhishvili Museum. It was dedicated to the Festival “Spring of
Museums”.

There was a grand opening of the
public holiday “Abkhazetoba” at the Museum of Ethnography. The prime Minister
of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili, the Minister of Education and Science of
Georgia Tamar Sanikidze, the executive and legislative authorities of Georgia,
representatives of international organizations, Diplomatic corps, IDP
intelligence from Abkhazia and other invited guests have attended the event.

Science of Georgia organized informative seminar for National Vocational
Education Council with the support of EU project “Technical assistance for
reform of employment and vocational education”. The first deputy Minister of
Education and Science of Georgia Ketevan Natriashvili has attended the seminar.

Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze attended the official opening
of 23rd International conference of the Network of Institutes and
Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe NISPACEE. She addressed
the participants of the conference with a speech.

The Minister of Education and
Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze, Deputy Minister Lia Gigauri and Governor of
Kakheti irakli Shiolashvili visited several schools of Pankisi Gorge and introduced
school projects to the students, their parents and teachers. Authorities of the
Ministry also answered the questions of representatives of Gorge and examined
their requirements. Within the event, the schools also received literature for
the libraries and computers.

The basic research of Program for International Student Assessment
(PISA) is conducted at Tbilisi “Komarov” Physics-Mathematical boarding
school N199. Today the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia
Tamar Sanikidze and the director of National Examination Center Maia
MiminoShvili inspected the process.

In village Bughasheni of Akhalkalaki
Municipality, Samtskhe-Javakheti, the first energy efficient public school was
built. Today, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikdize,
with the representatives of Infrastructural Service of the Ministry and local
self-government visited the village Bughasheni and congratulated the opening of
a new school to the students and teachers.

Today, finals of the largest intellectual contest “Day of
Intellect 2015 was held at club “Triumph”. 71 winner schools of the first
municipal round of the contest will reveal the most intellectual school of
2015. The Deputy Minister of Education
and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri and the Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs
of Georgia Tariel Khechikashvili attended the event. Giorgi Mosidze, a president of the Intellect Club “What? Where?
When?” was leading the final round.

Conference-exhibition of Civic
Education Teachers’ Forum was opened today. The Minister of Education and
Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze, a director of Caucasus Mission of US Agency
for International Development (USAID) Steven Heykin and a director of Civic
Education program Marina Ushveridze welcomed the participants of the conference.

Collaboration
memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia,
the Ministry of Education and Research of Estonia and foundation “Inove”. The
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze, Deputy Secretary
General of the General and Vocational Education of Ministry of Education and
Research of Estonia Mart Laidmets and the head of council of foundation Inove
Birgit Lao Peretso signed the memorandum.

By the initiative of Independent
School Association, another workshop was held with the representatives of private schools.
Several important issues were discussed on the meeting, including new scheme
for vocational development of teachers and joint aims regarding improvement of
learning-teaching quality.
