The
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is to implement unprecedented
project- construction of nine new schools in different regions shall start from
November 2013.
Within the framework of the
project “Autumn Lectures in Tbilisi”, professors of German Institute of
Neuroscience and Medicine will deliver lectures at Georgian Technical
University during the period of October 12-26.
First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ketevan Natriashvili and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania in Georgia, H.E. Jonas Paslauskas visited Lithuanian Language Center at Georgian Technical University together with representatives of the Sejm.
Inclusive education teachers’ training was held at National Center for Teacher Professional Development. Teachers from Tbilisi and the regions attended the training.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia arranged a ceremony at National Center for Teacher Professional Development on October 5. The event was attended by up to 100 teachers from Tbilisi and the regions, their trainers and authors of magazine “Mastsavlebeli”.
Within the framework of “Inclusive Education Support Program”,
integrated class will start at Tbilisi public schools 64 and 166 for elementary
level pupils with sensory (hearing) and autism spectrum disorders.
Today, Deputy Minister of Education and Science and a member of Interagency Commission, Lia Gigauri visited the villages located near demarcation line, namely villages Kveshi, Ditsi and Ergneti.
Governmental
Commission was set up to respond to the needs of residents of the villages
located near the demarcation line. The decision on setting up the Commission
was made during the Government Session on October 1.
Representatives of National Association of School Resource
Officers are visiting Georgia. Georgian Resource Officers and psychologists are
being trained by the Association instructors during five days.
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze awarded with certificates 114 participants of the third stream of “Georgian Language for Future Success” program.
An event
dedicated to European Day of Languages was held for children aged 7-14 at
Tbilisi Youth Palace with the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Georgia, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Ministry
of Sport and Youth Affairs and with the support of the EU Delegation to
Georgia.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia organized the 1st International Conference “Pre-School Education in Georgia- Reality and Prospects” with the support of UNICEF.
Another Conference for the teachers of vocational education institutions was held. The Conference was opened by the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ketevan Natriashvili.

pectoral award “Amagdari” to one more internally displaced
teacher from Sokhumi Ms Sonia Songulia, a chemistry teacher from Abkhazia
Public School 2.
