Georgian Young Medics Union
implements the project Teaching Healthy Way of Life at Schools that covers five
pilot schools. The First Experimental School is one of the schools where the
project was successfully implemented.
Refurbishing
of the school canteens still continues. First Deputy Minister of Education and
Science of Georgia, Koka Sepherteladze opened new canteen in the Public School №64.
Leading companies of the world
got interested in constructing new computer producing factory in Georgia.
Minister held a meeting concerning this issue with the founder of Intel netbook producer company in Portugal,
JP Sa Gouto , Jorge Sa Couto and business manager of the famous project “Magellan”, Luis
Silveira Pinto.
Minister
of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini, together with the
schoolchildren of the secondary classes attended the screening of the
documentary film Soviet History, at Public School №181.
Foreign
English language teachers , who have arrived to Georgia in the scope of the
program Teach And Learn With Georgia, took part in the campaign Plant a Tree,
Make Tbilisi Green, that is being held under the
blessing of His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos Patriarch of all Georgia,
Ilia II.
The
President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili attended the presentation of the new
course of the Operator of the Construction Technique and Welder in the
Vocational education and Training Center “Spectri”. The President got
familiarized with the ongoing programs in different specialties.
Minister
of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini and Minister of
Environment Protection and Natural Resources, Goga Khachidze presented
animation movie “Botso and Gvantsa” to the schoolchildren of the primary classes
of Tbilisi Public School №123.
In
the scope of the program “Einstein”, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science
of Georgia, Koka Sepherteladze provided Tbilisi Vekua Physics-Mathematical
Public School №42 with the lab for natural sciences.
Resource Officers of Public School №71, schoolchildren, teachers and the
representatives of the school management visited the Gamjashvili
family. 5 children of this family study in Public School №71.
Minister
of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini signed Memoranda of
Cooperation with Nodar Dumbadze Tbilisi State Children’s Theatre and G.
Mikeladze State Puppet Theatre.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia together with the
National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement continues a series
of Regional Academic Summits and trainings for higher educational
institutions in the framework of the Twinning/CEIBAL project.
Resource Officers visited nursing home “Katarzisi” and presented its
residents with different sweets. Resource Officers spent one day
together with the elderly people and listened to their problems.
Implementation of the newly approved National Curriculum
will be launched on September 15, 2011. At the initial level, new National
Curriculum will be introduced at the first level (I-VI forms). Changes will be
developed at the second and the third levels from 2012.
“Abituri” hours are included in the schedule of the 12th graders
concerning the subjects, that they will pass during 2010-2011 High
School exams. “Abituri” hours are reflected in the National Curriculum
and it envisages repeating the covered material.
In the scope of the program Teach And Learn With Georgia, 7th group of English
language volunteer teachers arrived to Georgia. They will be distributed
in Samtskhe-Javakheti region in order to teach the local schoolchildren English
language.
