I would like to particularly congratulate the women working in the field of education, science, culture and sport in Georgia.

In the advancement of Georgia, in our culture, women have always played an important role. This role meant not only an invaluable asset for the upbringing of dignified future generations, but also active participation in social, political, and cultural activities.

Georgian women are still a major contributor to the country's development. However, we should still strive to bring their full potential, talents and abilities to political and public life.

Unfortunately, despite numerous legislative and other judicial steps being taken, domestic and general violence against women still remain a challenge. For our culture and traditions are completely alien and unacceptable to such violence, all of us, the state and society must come together. Building a society free from aggression and oppression is impossible without gender equality, and therefore, strengthening the political and social role of women is of paramount importance.

In this process, every man must exercise solidarity, as equality for women means progress and prosperity for all.

I wish the women of our country happiness, peace and a wide arena of opportunity.
