The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli spoke about the national exams.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli: "As of today, we can say that the national exams will be held in the same format and at the same time as they were always held. At this stage, neither the format nor the dates of the national exams have been changed. Therefore, we are oriented for the month of July. As in previous years, we will inform the public about the details on the national exams in June. Please note, there might be some late changes, and if the epidemiological situation requires it, we might postpone the exams to August.”
According to the Minister, the registration period for the Unified National, General Master and Student Grant Examinations has been extended to April 30. As of May 1, more than 39,300 entrants have registered for the Unified National Examinations; The total number of applicants for the master's exam is more than 12,600; And more than 3,600 students expressed their desire to take part in the student grant competition.
At this stage, no changes are to be expected for the dates or terms of the Unified National Exams. The exams are usually held in July and the exact dates are set for June.
The Minister emphasized that the main task of the Ministry is, on the one hand, to protect the health and safety of the participants of the exams as much as possible, and on the other hand, to ensure the examination process is conducted seamlessly. The National Center for Assessment and Examinations will act in accordance with the recommendations provided by medical experts. All safety measures, including remote control, hygiene, and disinfection, will be considered when organizing the examination process. During the exam, no more than 10 entrants will be placed in one space.
