The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli held an online meeting with Natia Khuntua, the founder of the Atinati Charitable Foundation. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the possibilities of implementing joint projects in the field of education and culture.

The Minister opened the webinar by introducing the projects implemented in distance learning component, under the conditions of the pandemic, helping to create opportunities and generate new ideas for development. Additionally, Mikheil Chkhenkeli talked about the introduction of Microsoft Teams and other national platforms, emphasizing the project ‘TV School’, which will continue to broadcast in the future, even when the pandemic ends.

For her part, Natia Khuntua briefed the Minister on the ongoing projects of the Atinati Charitable Foundation, which are being implemented in the field of education and culture. Ms. Khuntua mentioned a special project that aims to create an animated course for Georgian preschoolers living abroad. The project will be a great commodity for Georgian communities residing abroad and will greatly aid the younger generation to learn and fully master the Georgian language. Moreover, the founder of the Atinati Foundation spoke about a cultural project, which aims to visualize Georgian historical monuments and helps to popularize them abroad.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli expressed readiness for future cooperation with the Atinati Charitable Foundation, especially since the concept of the fund coincides with the current projects of the Ministry. In particular, the Minister singled out the issue of introducing the Microsoft product "Minecraft Education Edition" in Georgian public schools. This example of future pedagogy involves children gaining knowledge during a game. The minister also put forward an idea to expand the "Sunday School Support Program” in cooperation with the Atinati Foundation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
