Efendi Villa, a non-governmental organization operating in Georgia, was named among the 11 winners of the Council of Europe and European Commission joint competition "European Heritage Days".
The project "One Name, One Life, One Sign" envisages the erection of memorial plaques of the repressed individuals during the totalitarian regime of the Soviet Union between 1937-38, among whom are the former owners of the "Efendiev Villa" in Kobuleti. Within the framework of the project, an exhibition dedicated to human rights and democracy will also be organized in the Adjara region.
"European Heritage Days" started in 2018, within the framework of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, and it is held annually. The competition is open to organizations participating in the European Heritage Days program and the winners of the EU Cultural Heritage Award / Europa Nostra Award.
The aim of the competition is to identify the European dimension of heritage sites and heritage-related activities that take place in various European countries.
