The 77th Georgian Women's Chess Championship has opened

The 77th Georgian Women's Chess Championship has officially opened at the Nona Gaprindashvili Chess Palace. Almost all the leading chess players of the country take part in the championship.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Shalva Gogoladze, President of the European Chess Union, Zurab Azmaiparashvili and President of the Georgian Chess Federation, Gia Giorgadze along with current and veteran chess players.

Alongside the opening of the championship, the International Chess Day was celebrated in Vera Garden. The presentation of the book "Success from year to year" (authors: Gia Giorgadze, Davit Gurgenidze, Elene Bilikhodze, Sopho Nikoladze) was also held. The book summarizes the successes of Georgian chess from 2008 to 2019.

The Chess Championship is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia. The championship is held in full compliance with the regulations established by the Ministry of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Affairs. Before entering the hall, participants are subjected to thermoscreening. Georgian Chess Championship will end on July 30.
