Ekaterine Dgebuadze, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia got acquainted with the ongoing renovation works on the spot.
The Educational Infrastructure Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia has allocated GEL 1,125,818 for the complete renovation of the school. Renovation works include the , complete redesign of the roof, fending the school yard and the premises, installing a central heating system, refurbishing the classrooms, a gym, and rearranging the bathrooms.
The school was built by the Bishop of Imereti, Gabriel Kikodze in 1870 and it still bears his name. The current school building is designed for 700 students.
