Organized by the International Center for Education, the Annual Scholarship Forum was held with the aim of meeting and acquainting different generations of students, whilst promoting their mutual cooperation.
The forum was attended by the graduate students, as well as the winners of various scholarship competitions for the 2020-2021 academic year, led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure - Maia Tskitishvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports - Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Environmental Protection - Levan Davitashvili and the director of the International Education Center - Nino Chelidze.
In his speech, Mikheil Chkhenkeli wished young people success and noted that they will come across an effective and fruitful experience in the world's leading universities:
"Taking care of the youth and their education is the main priority of our team, because a truly educated society can solve the problems facing the country. I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet very talented young people who won a scholarship competition at the International Center for Education. They will travel abroad and receive education in the world's leading universities; upon the completion of their studies, they will return to Georgia and use their knowledge and experience gained for the development of our country” said Mikheil Chkhenkeli.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli also spoke in great detail about their further employment perspectives and focused on the world-class Kutaisi International University, where lectures along with Georgian professors will be given by professors from leading world universities:
"I want you to know that after returning you will have the opportunity to be employed in a truly world-class university. This will be an interesting path for your further academic development. You are truly our intellectual gold fund. I am sure that with all your knowledge you will be involved in the reconstruction of the country”.
The first part of the forum was dedicated to the information exchange, which was conducted online through the ZOOM platform. During the forum, students had the opportunity to learn about the Center's current programs and planned program changes in the context of globalization and internationalization of higher education, priorities, similarities and differences between scholarship schemes.
Additionally, during the forum, meetings were held with the representatives of the Center's software service, specialists in various fields and alumni of the Center, where students received the necessary advice for professional development, got acquainted with the peculiarities of the international educational process and many more.
