The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli together with the representatives of the local authorities visited the newly rehabilitated public school in Zestaponi. The Minister got acquainted with the school teachers, congratulated them on the renovated school building, wished them professional advancement and fruitful pedagogical activities.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli: “Today I visited Zestaponi №1 public school, which has been granted the status of a cultural heritage monument. This year, its complete restoration-rehabilitation was completed. I am pleased that the students will meet their new academic year in a renovated school whose exterior façade has been retained and restored to its original appearance. The interior is arranged according to the modern standards and requirements. The school has all the conditions necessary for quality learning. Congratulations to the people of Zestafoni for starting a new academic life in this historic school. I want to emphasize that the main priority of our government is to take care of the youth and ensure quality education.”
It should be noted that the building of №1 Public School in Zestaponi has the status of a cultural heritage monument and as a result of restoration-rehabilitation it has regained its original appearance. Additionally, the yard and recreational space have been improved, and hiking trails have been created. The building is designed for 200 students. The project was implemented with the financial support of the LEPL Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency with the budget exceeding GEL 2.5 million.
