A school in full compliance with the modern standards was built in the village of Siktarva, Terjola Municipality. The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli visited the newly built public school designated for 120 students together with Elguja Gotsiridze, Majoritarian MP from Tkibuli and Terjola.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli: “Today I visited a new public school built in the village of Siktarvi, Terjola Municipality, a building erected in accordance with modern European standards. I am pleased, that local students here were able to resume the learning process right within the walls of the new building. Arranging modern school infrastructure is one of the main priorities of our government. Accordingly, the construction, renovation and equipping of schools throughout Georgia will continue on an ongoing basis.

I would like to emphasize that, all sanitary-hygienic rules and guidelines that are necessary for the prevention of coronavirus dissemination is strictly observed by health experts. Taking care of  our people's health is our primary priority."

Siktarvi Public School was built with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia by the LEPL Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency with ecologically clean construction materials. The total cost of the project amounted to more than GEL 2 mln.

The building is adapted for students with special educational needs; ramps, elevator and adapted bathrooms are arranged across the school premises. The school has an assembly hall, a library and science classrooms. The building is equipped with new inventory and equipment. The yard has a modern sports field and recreation area of ​​modern standards.

Despite the challenges, the new school year has begun with significant innovations. For the 2020-21 academic year, the construction of 50 new public schools in Tbilisi and the regions has already been completed, and about 800 schools have been fully and partially renovated. Most of the infrastructural labor was carried out by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, together with the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure. Part of the renovation is financed from the local budgets of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and other regions.
