Between October 3-25, the Georgian national team won two medals at the World Online School Chess Championship. Ekaterine Pipia scored 8 points in the competition for girls under 17 and took the first place among 40 participants and won a gold medal. Additionally, Nia Dongvani took the 3^rd place with 7 points and won the bronze medal, while Diana Lomaia finished the competition in the 12^th place with 5 points.

Ekaterine Pipia's championship at the World School Championship and Nia Dongvan's bronze medal are immensely gratifying to me – that is in the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic with the reduced sports activities, the girls managed to make Georgian chess fans happy.
