The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, informed the public about the educational situation at those schools where the polling stations are located.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli: "As you know, the schools where the polling stations are located have switched to distance learning. Except for the Adjara region, there are 1419 schools where the polling stations are located. "Disinfection works will be carried out in these schools from Tuesday. Therefore, from Wednesday next week, the education in these schools will be resumed in the usual format."

After the end of the Interagency Council, Mikheil Chkhenkeli also spoke about the rapid training course for senior medical students, after which, if necessary, they will help doctors in the management of Covid-infection.

"Owing to the decision of the Interagency Council, I met with the rectors of medical universities and deans of medical faculties to establish a reserve, or base of senior students who will undergo a special medical training.

Specific directions will be identified according to what will be needed in a particular situation. This includes assistance in the call center, as well as in the Covid-related quarantine areas. Obviously, senior students do not and will not replace doctors, they will just help and assist them in any way.” – stated the Minister.
