Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini met with 36 students of summer school who will leave for the United Kingdom English Language Summer School for two weeks by July 24.
Schoolchildren were selected among 400 participants according to the subject Olympiads and different educational competitions. Majority of them are from different regions of Georgia. They actively participated in different events during the three weeks and were positively evaluated by their teachers, leaders and peers.
The program Summer Schools in Georgia and Summer Schools in the United Kingdom is being implemented in three groups from June 22 until August 25, 2010. 1,200 schoolchildren of 8th, 9th, 10thand 11th grades of general educational institutions of Georgia are involved in it. 36 students are selected from each group (totally, 400 students are in each group). They will be sent in London for two weeks.
In the framework of English Language Learning Strengthening Program, the students of the first group were sent in Tskneti, Bakuriani and Tskaltubo bases from 22 June until 12 July together with the Director of the camp from the United Kingdom, One Chief teacher, 9 English Language teachers and leaders of 9 groups.
400 students of the second group left for Tskenti, Bakuriani and Tskaltubo summer schools on July 14. The third group will arrive there in the beginning of August.
