The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli opened an online seminar - "Mathematics within the Secondary Education Curriculum of Georgia: An Educational Plan in the Age of Artificial Intelligence", where the renowned mathematician and technologist - Conrad Wolfram read a specialized report on mathematical education reform in teaching.
In his speech, Minister Chkhenkeli noted that in the modern world, mathematics as a field of science has a great impact on life, because it is mathematics that helps a person to develop logical and critical thinking. It is precisely Mathematics and its disciplines that develop analytical and problem-solving skills.
Furthermore, the Minister also spoke about the connection of mathematics with other fields and noted that knowledge of exact and natural sciences, technologies, engineering and mathematics is important as a person develops innovative skills and problem-solving skills through technology and science.
Minister Mikheil Chkhenkeli also noted that in an age of unprecedented computation and scientific advances, when artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly popular, mathematics is an important driving force. To overcome the modern challenges, it is important to introduce the closest methodology for teaching mathematics in schools.
