With the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Samtskhe-Javakheti region will have a new vocational college by 2022. Young people living in the region will receive modern vocational education in an environment that meets the latest standards. The college will introduce both short-term and long-term training courses for adults, as well as diploma and secondary vocational programs. The main focus will be on tourism and hospitality areas and professions important to the region, namely: forestry, wood processing and various craft disciplines.

The laboratories on the college premises, will be equipped with the latest technology, auditoriums, a conference hall, a library, a cafeteria, an open sports field and a recreation area. The building will be fully adapted for people with disabilities. The college will actively cooperate with both the local government and the private sector.

Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, inspected the construction together with Davit Partsvania, Director of the Agency for Development of Educational and Scientific Infrastructure, and Davit Zaalishvili, Acting Mayor of Borjomi Municipality.

The construction of Borjomi Vocational College is supported by the Ministry and is carried out by the Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency. The cost of the project is up to GEL 10 million. With the active support of the Ministry, vocational schools were built and renovated in 2020 in Kutaisi, Shuakhevi, Marneuli, Chokhatauri, Kaspi and Telavi. The process continues and by 2021, 11 more cities in Georgia will boast newly built / renovated vocational schools.
