The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli got acquainted with the sanitary norms developed by the schools for the prevention of the virus at public schools N118 and N208. The minister held a meeting with the school principals and discussed the measures taken by schools to ensure the safety of each student and teacher during the educational process.
Although there are 1230 students at public school N118 and 892 students at public school N208, the schools strictly adhere to the guidelines developed by the Ministry of Health. Schools are equipped with all relevant disinfectants, whereas the students and all faculty members strictly follow the recommendations.
For security reasons, supervisory controls have been tightened to protect sanitation in schools. At the same time, mandatory testing of teachers and school representatives is underway.
The Ministry will continue to actively monitor schools in order to ensure security. Both general education institutions, as well as higher education institutions and vocational colleges will continue to be actively monitored by the Ministry of Education and Science.
