The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli mourns the passing of Guram Dochanashvili, a classic writer of modern Georgia, one of the greatest Georgian prosaists of our times.

"Kindness, relentless struggle, perseverance and striving for freedom were the starting point of Guram Dochanashvili's work. He created an entire era that brings the world into a state of astonishment. In the form of Guram Dochanashvili, Modern Georgian literature lost its creator, who was indeed distinguished by his modesty and genius.
