Renovation efforts of Evgeni Kharadze Abastumani Astrophysical Observatory Tbilisi office are finally completed. Renovation worth up to GEL 750 thousand were carried out by the LEPL Educational and Scientific Infrastructure Development Agency. At this stage, the process of equipping the office with inventory is underway.
The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Nunu Mitskevichi personally visited the office located at Kostava Street №47/57 and held a meeting with the young scientists together with the administration of the Observatory.
The young people informed the Deputy Minister about their scientific activities and provided information about the existing needs. For her part, Nunu Mitskevichi spoke about the importance of Georgian science participation in the grant competitions of Horizon Europe of the new EU framework program and noted that the preparation of joint projects with foreign research centres and obtaining large-scale grant funding will strengthen Georgian science and its internalization.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed ways to promote the development of the field of astronomy and its promotion among the adults and general public.
