The rate of Covid-19 related infection is growing at Georgian public schools. At the same time, the control over the observance of hygiene norms at the general education institutions has been tightened in order to prevent the spread of the virus as much as possible before the beginning of the Easter holidays.
According to the recommendation of the Ministry, the traffic of parents and other related individuals on the school premises is also strictly controlled, in conjunction with the timely disinfection efforts, in case the virus is detected.
Last week, April 17-25, data from monitoring and mandatory testing confirmed the virus across 0.3% of teachers and school administrators and 0.1% of students nationwide.
At the request of parents, and also due to the confirmation of the virus, there are a total of 74 schools and 191 separate classes across the country at full distance learning mode. At this stage, there are 123 teachers across the country who work remotely, full-time.
In cases of further virus detection, point restrictions will still apply.
