"You strive to put all your heart, energy and effort into your favourite work. It is very important to constantly work on myself, and it has not stopped me so far.” - said Kristine Gelbakhidze, a special teacher at Tbilisi Public School No. 60, who became a senior special teacher in 2021 based on her qualification and master's degree.

Kristine Gelbakhidze has always dreamed of a profession where she would feel comfortable, do the job with pleasure and at the same time bring benefit to the people.

"I came across a presentation about a bachelor's program in inclusive education. It was the first time I learned about that kind of profession. At that time, it was not a recognizable profession and very few entrants chose to pursue it. Many, like me, knew nothing about it at all. I quickly realized that this was a profession that I would love to learn and master.  After the completion of the inclusive education bachelor’s program, Kristine continued her studies in the special education, and eventually received a master’s degree.

Kristine Gelbakhidze, firmly believes that inclusive education is especially demanding and uneasy during the pandemic.

"This mode of teaching turned out to be especially difficult for students with special educational needs. Teachers faced many challenges: how to plan the lesson, how to engage the student, how to work individually with the student, how to manage the students on the screen, and so forth. However, with an individual approach and teamwork, we will overcome the difficulties together. Loyalty to your profession, love and selfless hard work always gives you the desired outcome.
