The New Academic Year Starts on September 15

The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini held the briefing on the beginning of the new academic year.
By the announcement of the Minister, the exact dates of the beginning and ending of the academic year were defined and they won’t change. This innovation will help the students and parents to plan better their vacation and school preparation periods.
According to the decision of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia:
• Academic year will begin on September 15 and will end on June 15, except for the students of 1st and 12th grades, the academic year will end on May 20 for them. Winter holidays will start on December 24 and end on January 20. Easter holidays will begin on every Maundy Thursday and finish on Wednesday of the next week.
• General education institutions will have two semester classes instead of trimester
