A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Education Coalition to strengthen children's rights, teachers and access to education.
The memorandum was signed by Ekaterine Dgebuadze, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Ghasan Khalil, UNICEF Representative in Georgia, and Irina Khantadze, Chairperson of the Board of the Education Coalition.
The memorandum aims to reduce the damage caused by COVID-19 in the field of pre-school and general education and to facilitate the implementation of state interventions.
The parties agreed to actively cooperate on issues such as: protection of children's rights, strengthening the teaching staff in Georgia, increasing student access and inclusion in inclusive and quality education, which is one of the priorities of the Ministry. The Ministry implements several projects in this direction in close cooperation with local and international partners.
