In order to increase the awareness of Kartvelology and Georgian Science on the Internet, from July 1, the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia together with the National Center of Manuscripts within the project "Science Calendar - 2021" announces a competition - "Kartvelology Wikipedia", which will be open to all interested individuals, including the students.
The competition consists of several nominations and aims to reveal the best articles about the fields of Kartvelology and their achievements, Kartvelologist scholars and Georgian manuscripts. The competition will be implemented by the National Center of Manuscripts with the support of the Ministry, where unique Kartvelological material is collected.
Submissions will start on July 1 and last until August 15. They will be evaluated from August 16 to September 16, and the winners will be announced on September 24. Each nomination will have three winners who will receive cash prizes: 1st place - 1000 GEL, 2nd place - 800, and 3rd place - 500 GEL.
The competition "Kartvelology in Wikipedia" is one of the events that the Ministry will implement to promote science. As a result, the international online platform - Wikipedia - will be filled with credible source-based materials about Kartvelology, Kartvelian scholars, Georgian manuscripts, Georgian science, its fields and prominent representatives, and will be available to the general public in both Georgian and English.
Promoting the field of science and popularizing Georgian scientists in the international space is one of the main priorities of the Ministry. That is why the project "Science Calendar - 2021" will carry out a number of activities, including science-themed competitions, master classes, exhibitions, lectures and various cognitive and fun events.
