With the financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre and Film, together with the School of Theatrical Costume and Accessories Vocational School conducted various vocational training programs on "Theatrical Costume Tailoring" and "Theatrical Costume Accessories and Quilt crafting".
The project trained theatre and film costume artists and accessory specialists to create works of various eras and themes, including national costumes, costumes and accessories from the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo eras, made of Georgian quilt and technique.
The graduates presented the costumes and accessories created within the program at the final exhibition-parade. Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia attended the event, praised the works and noted that the activities of the graduates will have a positive impact on the development of Georgian cinema and theatre in the future.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has launched new educational services since 2019, which include offering vocational training and retraining programs within formal education. The implementer of the short-term training program, in addition to the educational institution, may become any legal entity that meets the established standards. Tuition in various priority areas is fully funded by the state. Upon completion of the program, students receive certificates recognized by the state.
