The Ministry of Education and Science, with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), is launching a professional qualification review based on international best practice analysis and system experience. The aim of this process is to bring the Georgian qualifications system closer to international standards, to modernize vocational education and to promote its integration into the common European space. It should be noted that the private sector and industrial associations will be actively involved in the qualification review process.
The new qualification development methodology was discussed at a meeting held between the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Tamar Kitiashvili and the Leader of the PSD TVET SC Program of the German International Cooperation (GIZ), Selma Ulrich with the parties involved in vocational education reform.
After the presentations and reports presented at the workshop, the current processes in the vocational education system were discussed, the risks and challenges were assessed, and recommendations were prepared, which will be taken into account in the process of introducing innovations.
