By the order of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, the entrants living in the occupied territories will be enrolled in the higher education institutions of their choice without the Unified National Examinations in 2021 and the state will fully finance their tuition fees.
The mentioned state program refers to those entrants who have studied for the last 2 years and received a certificate of full general education in a general education institution in the occupied territory provided by the Law of Georgia on Occupied Territories and whose full general education is recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
In addition, from this year onwards, the right to enroll and fund Georgian higher education institutions in Georgian institutions may be granted to persons with special educational needs living in the occupied territories who have left the relevant schools (due to lack of inclusive education opportunities in the occupied territories).
Under these conditions, the registration of those wishing to enroll and finance in higher education institutions of Georgia is ensured by the Provisional Administrative-Territorial Unit of the Tskhinvali Region and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.
