The first scientific board meeting of Rustavlei Foundation (Foundation for Georgian Studies, Humanities and Social Sciences) was held on January 20, 2010, in the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. During the meeting, 2010 year budget of Rustavlei Foundation was approved and a final list of 2009 state grants projects was endorsed. 266 scientific projects were submitted to the state grants contest in 2009. From 2010, 27 best scientific projects will be financed within the framework of this competition.
A final list of Presidential Scientific Grants for Young Scholars in 2009 was also approved. Out of 64 scientific projects that were submitted in 2009, 10 best scientific projects will be financed in 2010.
The results of the contest for Shota Rustaveli fellowship competition was also raised during the meeting. In 2010, 10 scientists, out of the 52 applications registered in 2009, will receive fellowship. At the same time, outcomes of Ilia Chavchavadze Fellowship competition for Young Scientists were discussed. In 2009, 45 applications were submitted out of which 15 young scientists will receive the scholarship in 2010.
