Meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Nodar Surguladze, Director of the National Curriculum and Assessment Centre Natia Jokhadze, scientific advisors, school principals, teachers and experts working on education issues.

Members of the working group reviewed all textbooks that currently exist for the first class pupils. At the same time, they discussed the methodological or substantive aspects of these books. In addition, the field experts discussed the issues related to the appropriateness of teaching “Dedaena” (the Georgian ABC Book) by I. Gogebashvili and other textbooks based on the same methodology as “Dedaena” as well as based on alternative methodology.
