The process of distributing text-books to vulnerable schoolchildren has been started. First, the text-books will be sent to Imereti, Samegrelo and Svaneti regions. The First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Seperteladze monitored the process of distributing text-books to the Education Resource Centers and Public Schools.

Distribution of the textbooks will start from September 2 and will last till September 14. The text-books will be placed at “Maneji”
(Address: 5 Beliashvili Str. Near restaurant “Babilo”) and school principals and representatives of Education Resource Centers will take the text-books to schools and distribute them among vulnerable schoolchildren of all regions.

The schoolchildren will get the text-books as new academic year starts. In 2010, for the first time, text-books will be distributed free of charge to all students from socially vulnerable families.  The Government has allocated 8 million GEL for this program.

In the future, these text-books will be given to school libraries so that other vulnerable students can use them.
