The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli expresses his condolences on the death of the famous Georgian handball player, coach, sports figure and teacher - Jano Bagrationi and extends his sympathies to the family members, friends and all of Georgia.

The death of Mr. Jano is truly a great loss for Georgia as a whole. He was a Knight of the Order of Honor, Honored Coach of Georgia, a member of the Order of the Georgian Olympic Committee and a Knight of the Vakhtang Gorgasali Order, received the Order of the International Olympic Committee.

The merits of Mr. Jano Bagrationi, as a teacher, in establishing a healthy lifestyle among the younger generations are invaluable. For decades, he has faithfully and selflessly served the upbringing of young athletes.”
