The Spring Semester of the 2021-22 academic year resumed on January 17 at schools. Last week, coronavirus was confirmed for 0.8% of teachers and 0.1% of students.
In the event of covid virus being detected, schools will continue to act in accordance with the recommendation received from healthcare professionals to prevent a further internal spread. At this stage, there are a total of 21 schools with distance learning with 84 separate classes.
At present, 73.5% of teachers and school administration representatives have been vaccinated.
Owing to the decision of the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, the Ministry still allows parents of students to choose between the form of distance and in-person learning. General education institutions are provided with appropriate disinfectant solutions, towels, thermal screening devices and disinfection barriers. Teacher testing on Covid-19 is intensive.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia continues to systematically monitor schools for virus prevention to ensure a safe environment for teachers and students.
