The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, hosted the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahmud Adib, and personally congratulated him on his appointment.
Within the framework of the meeting, Mikheil Chkhenkeli spoke about the ongoing reforms at all levels of education in Georgia and introduced the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the large-scale educational projects implemented in recent years.
The Minister thanked the Ambassador for the cooperation and the joint projects that the Ministry in partnership with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of higher education and science has been successfully implementing for many years.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the prospects of deepening the existing partnership between Georgia and the Islamic Republic of Iran and discussed the issues of strengthening scientific ties.
On his part, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed his willingness to actively cooperate with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia in terms of promoting the development of science and education.
The meeting held at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia was also attended by the third secretary of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Georgia, Seyed Mojtaba Mousavi, and the adviser on cultural issues, Ahmad Ali Mehri Ardestani.
