A conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Economics and Business was held at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, within which the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, addressed the audience and congratulated the students and professors on the anniversary.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli: "I am glad that today I will participate with you in this extremely important event, which is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Economics and Business of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

First of all, I would like to congratulate all the students, professors, scientists, employees and graduates of Tbilisi State University on this special day.

It is especially festive that Tbilisi State University, which is an educational centre with the richest scientific traditions of our country, hosts such an outstanding international scientific conference for the seventh time.

Since its establishment, Tbilisi State University has been playing a major role in the internationalization of higher education and science, which is one of the main priorities of our team.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia attaches special importance to the modernization and internationalization of Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI), which is vital for creating new knowledge, promoting sustainable development and economic progress within the country. In this direction, we are actively cooperating with the world scientific community, and I believe that in partnership with them, we will take many more effective steps in terms of supporting Georgian scientists and strengthening scientific ties with foreign partners.

It should be noted that in the modern era, universities, through the implementation of educational activities, play a special role in the formation of an innovative ecosystem, which, in turn, contributes to the economic growth of Georgia. Therefore, one of the main goals of the Georgian government, along with supporting scientific research, is to ensure equal access to quality higher education, which is demonstrated by the comprehensive reforms implemented in recent years and the annually growing budget of the Ministry of Education and Science.

As you know, the study programs of Tbilisi State University's International School of Economics (ISET) received the official accreditation of the International Agency for Quality Assurance (FIBAA). This is another important step taken in the direction of the country's European integration and return to the European family. Obtaining the official accreditation of the International Agency for Quality Assurance once again indicates that Tbilisi State University offers students an education in accordance with international standards, which opens up even more opportunities for them in the international employment market.

Once again, I congratulate everyone, every member of the university community, on the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Economics and Business of Tbilisi State University, I wish you success and progress in your future work!"

The 7th international scientific conference - "Challenges of Globalization in Economy and Business" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Economics and Business of Tbilisi State University was opened by Acting Rector of TSU - Jaba Samushia.
