The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, hosted the Ambassador of Hungary, Anna Maria Shiko, and discussed the ongoing projects and future plans at all levels of education.
The minister thanked the Hungarian ambassador for the long-term partnership and noted that a number of important educational programs are implemented in Georgia in cooperation with the Hungarian government.
According to Giorgi Amilakhvari, an example of a successful partnership between Georgia and Hungary is the exchange scholarship program - "Stipendium Hungaricum", which gives Georgian and Hungarian students the opportunity to receive education in various higher educational institutions. The parties also discussed the issue of expansion of the mentioned exchange program and the ways of implementing student-supporting initiatives.
Additionally, the parties discussed the prospects of enhancing the existing cooperation in the field of higher and professional education and science based on the memorandums signed between Georgia and Hungary.
On his part, the Hungarian ambassador thanked the minister for his cooperation and once again expressed his readiness to support the education system of Georgia.
Within the framework of the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of the minister's visit to Hungary, where Giorgi Amilakhvari discussed with his Hungarian colleague the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the direction of education and science.
