The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari hosted the ambassador of the United Kingdom to Georgia, Mark Clayton. The minister informed the ambassador about the news planned in the system and his own visions and discussed with him the ongoing and implemented joint projects with the support of the British Council.
Giorgi Amilakhvari thanked the ambassador for many years of cooperation and noted that within the framework of the fruitful partnership between the countries, a number of important initiatives were implemented in terms of the development of the education and science system.
Moreover, during the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation mechanisms between universities and research institutes of Georgia and the UK. In addition, they discussed the issues of creating a new concept of distance/online education and the active implementation of joint and dual programs in higher educational institutions of Georgia.
At the end of the meeting, the British ambassador expressed his full readiness to expand future cooperation and emphasized that the close partnership between the two countries will become even more active.
