Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari held a meeting with the representatives of Tempus Public Foundation in Budapest. The parties discussed the issues of expanding Hungarian government scholarship program - "Stipendium Hungaricum", enhancing cooperation with the Foundation, and the ways to implement more supportive initiatives for students.

Minister Amilakhvari noted, that "Stipendium Hungaricum" scholarship program is one of the best examples of successful partnership between Georgia and Hungary. The program provides young Georgians with the opportunity of pursuing studies at various higher education institutions in Hungary. The Minister emphasized the importance of rising awareness among the Georgian applicants about the “Stipendium Hungaricum“, the total budget of the program and the number of available scholarship places.

At the meeting, Giorgi Amilakhvari also noted that Georgia is actively preparing to become the associated country to the Erasmus+ program, and in this direction, it is important to share the experience of the Foundation and implement joint projects.

The representatives of the Tempus Public Foundation expressed readiness to work in the direction of offering various programs for the Georgian students. In addition, within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, the Foundation will closely cooperate with Georgia in order to maximize the use of existing and future opportunities.
