Giorgi Amilakhvari, the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, recently hosted and personally congratulated the winners of international Olympiads, both at the world and regional levels. Expressing his pride in the success of Georgian national teams in prestigious global competitions, Minister Amilakhvari emphasized the significance of Georgian students representing their country annually on the international stage.
During the meeting, the minister highlighted the efforts to promote and host international competitions in Georgia. He underscored that the country has successfully organized various important tournaments in recent years. Giorgi Amilakhvari reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to actively continue supporting such events in the future, providing Georgian youths with a broader platform to showcase their abilities.
Notably, Georgia's national teams secured a remarkable total of 11 gold, 14 silver, 24 bronze medals, and 9 certificates of honour, including 1 gold, 4 silver, 9 bronze medals, and 2 certificates of honour at the World Olympics.
A particularly noteworthy achievement was Georgia's absolute championship in mathematics, physics, and informatics at the tournament held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, resulting in the country earning gold medals.
In 2023, Georgia hosted the inaugural "International Chemistry Tournament," featuring participation from 8 teams representing 6 countries. Additionally, the country served as the host for the "European Youth Olympiad of Informatics," with 26 teams from 25 countries participating."
