The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, inaugurated the new educational building of 'Horizont' College in Lanchkhuti and extended congratulations to the students of the vocational school on the commencement of their studies.
Giorgi Amilakhvari emphasized that one of the Ministry's key priorities is the development of professional education and the widespread accessibility of such education across the country. The minister stated that the new vision for professional education aligns with this objective, focusing on enhancing the infrastructure of professional colleges nationwide and increasing employer engagement to ensure high employment rates.
The construction of the new educational building at 'Horizont' College in Lanchkhuti was funded by the Ministry of Education and Science, with an expenditure of approximately 3 million GEL. The vocational school, spanning 1200 square meters, is designed for 250 students, with the entire area, including the yard, covering 1 hectare.
The state-of-the-art, multi-disciplinary school building is fully equipped with necessary facilities and is adapted for individuals with special needs, featuring ramps and accessible bathrooms. It houses theoretical and practical training spaces, an administrative section, and a cafeteria, all equipped with modern systems.
The college campus includes an amphitheater, green recreational areas, a parking lot, and a bicycle lane. The school is furnished with study and office equipment, furniture, and relevant scientific and practical teaching laboratories for integrated programs such as electricity, chemistry-physics, tailoring, hotel management, hair services, and web technologies.
A total of 102 students were enrolled in the college for the 2023 academic intake. The inspection of the new educational building was conducted by Giorgi Urushadze, the state trustee in Guria, alongside the minister.
