To promote the internationalization of higher education, the International Excellence School took place at the British University, with the participation of Georgia's Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, Nodar Papukashvili.
In his welcoming address, Nodar Papukashvili emphasized the significance of such initiatives in enhancing research opportunities within Georgian universities and improving the quality of their research structures, processes, and outcomes.
These events, organized within the framework of the I2Q project with support from University College London (UCL) and in collaboration with consulting company Savvy Business Ltd., are aimed at fostering collaboration. The inaugural event, hosted by Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in partnership with the British University, focused on topics within education, humanities, and social sciences. These included developing project proposals for grant competitions, implementing best practices in managing competitive projects, and understanding the financial aspects of such projects.
The first International Excellence School attracted doctoral candidates and young researchers from local universities in Tbilisi and the region, as well as participants from international higher education institutions.
Two additional events in the format of the International Excellence School are planned in Georgia. These events aim to further empower the academic and scientific community in developing grant projects, facilitating technology transfer and innovation, and safeguarding intellectual property rights.
