On January 7, 2024, a culinary competition was organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth Affairs of Georgia at the Icarus base, featuring students from 12 state vocational education institutions.
Participants prepared their main dishes based on a pre-assigned task. A qualified jury evaluated the contestants according to pre-established criteria, ultimately determining the winners of first, second, and third places.
The winners were presented their awards by Aleksandre Tsuladze, the First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth, along with Irene Margishvili, the Director General of the Vocational Skills Agency. Mr. Tsuladze congratulated the participants on their achievements and wished them continued success. During his address, he highlighted the importance of such competitions in encouraging student excellence and enhancing their employability, affirming the Ministry's commitment to supporting initiatives in vocational education.
The winning participants also received prizes from various private and public organizations. The competition aims to promote vocational education and the culinary profession, enhance skill development, and raise public awareness of these fields.
The event was initiated and supported by the TSU Media and Television College and the College of Icarus, with backing from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, the Vocational Skills Agency, and the private sector. It provided a valuable opportunity for talented students to showcase their abilities.
Participating vocational education institutions included Icarus, Black Sea, New Wave, Opizari, Tetnuldi, Horizon, Mermisi, Modus, Prestige, Iberia, Ilia Tsinamdzgvrishvili College, and Lakada.
